The mapping was jointly developed in the spring of 2026 by all five Nordic countries with support from the Nordic Council of Ministers' eHealth Group, with data visualisations developed by Datastory.
Over 800 AI initiatives are documented across publicly funded healthcare in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. The framework categorises these efforts into eight usage areas and three implementation phases: concept, pilot and routine operation.
